Counselling & psychotherapy

Counselling, or psychotherapy, offers you a confidential, consistent and supportive time and place to explore, clarify and better understand your difficulties, concerns or questions.

It allows you to examine your experiences and consider your choices, with the confidential support of a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist who will ask questions to help you reflect on your situation and possibilities.

What do people talk about?
People come to talk to me for a very wide variety of reasons, usually problems they wish to understand or overcome, or questions or goals that they would like to address.

Problems or issues that you may wish to talk about might include:

    * relationship difficulties
    * sadness, depression, emptiness, low self-esteem
    * anxiety, stress, panic, fear
    * obsessive or addictive behaviour
    * eating disorders
    * family issues
    * anger, guilt, mood swings
    * bereavement or other loss
    * shyness, lack of confidence
    * sexuality and sex
    * career and work-related issues
    * self-harm

On the other hand, you might want to talk about goals or questions you have. This might include past events you want to make more sense of, possibilities you want to explore, choices you want to consider, or aspects of yourself you want to learn more about.

The topics are your choice, and you don't have to talk about anything you don't want to.
